Welcome to the Pastor’s page of the East Fork Baptist website. I am Pastor Doug Tankersley & it is an honor to share what God is doing at East Fork with you. The Lord’s hand is mighty & we are excited about all the opportunities for ministry that the Lord is providing. In 1981 I was united in marriage to the love of my life, Glenda Brown of Zirconia, North Carolina. 2 years later God called us into His ministry. After preparing for His service through Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, we were provided opportunities to lead His people in several churches throughout Henderson County. In 1998, the Lord added to our family, a precious son, we call Elijah, a name that is a constant reminder that Jehovah is God. In 2001, God provided a new and exciting opportunity to serve Him & His people in the heart of Transylvania County, here at East Fork. God blessed us here with an exciting ministry that is continuing to grow, even today.

Here at East Fork, we are a church that reaches out to the future, seeking to fulfill the Great Commission to a world without Christ, while holding on to the values & morals, characteristic of servants of Jesus Christ, throughout the generations. Memories of yesterday, action for today & hope for tomorrow makes us a church for all generations.
